In remarkable untouched condition and its original frame, it is signed and dates to circa 1900. It has its original gallery/framer label verso. The light airy palette and panoramic landscape are what made him famous - and this is a quality example of his work. This is a fine sample of a 19th century Australian Impressionist painting with good subject. The colouring of the landscape and sheep at sunset are particularly appealing. It is fresh and vibrant.
