Description | This stunning Old Master portrait oil painting is attributed to circle of Godfrey Kneller. Painted circa 1685 the sitter is the beautiful Mrs Elizabeth Pegge. It is a half length feigned oval with the sitter wearing an off the shoulder dress and her dark curls piled high on her head, really showing off th curve of her neck. A really beautiful Old Master portrait of a beautiful woman in her prime, captured perfectly by circle of the leading British portrait painter of the 17th and 18th century. It is housed in a fine Lely original gilded frame which is in remarkable condition. |
