Biography | David Murray Urquhart (1880-1972) - born in Kirkcudbright, educated Edinburgh College of Art, Slade, Westminster School of Art, Academie JulieParis. Professional Bodies: RBA. Residence in Dumfries & Galloway. Exhibited at: Royal Academy, Royal Society of British Artists, Royal Hibernian Academy, Royal Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts, Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours. Employed a pointilliste technique in his landscapes. Murray Urquhart was the son of Dr Andrew Urquhart, Oakley, Kirkcudbright. His mother, who died two weeks after Murray's birth, was the daughter of Alexander McNeel Caird, Procurator Fiscal for Wigtowhshire. |
