Painted and exhibited in 1880 at the Royal Scottish Academy, the location is Morden or Moredun Wood in Edinburgh. A number of pheasants plus two rabbits are pictured in a beautiful dense beech and silver birch woodland. A really lovely painting with fantastic detail and light. Signed lower right. |
