Artist Name | Old Master - Lipizzaner Stallion |
---|---|
Title | White Lipizzaner Show Stallion |
Description | This beautiful white Lipizzaner stallion is by an Old Master from the 18th century circa 1780. The frame is even older. The oil painting depicts in great detail the head and beautiful mane of the horse, wearing decorative head gear and bridle. The Lipizzan or Lipizzaner, is a breed of horse closely associated with the Spanish Riding School of Vienna, Austria, where they demonstrate the haute école or "high school" movements of classical dressage, including the highly controlled, stylized jumps and other movements known as the "airs above the ground." The horses at the Spanish Riding School are trained using traditional methods that date back hundreds of years, based on the principles of classical dressage. Signed lower right OM. |
