Description |
A lovely British 19th century portrait oil painting atttributed to and ascribed to John Joseph Barker of Bath. Painted circa 1860 it is a half length portrait of a woman in a large black hat and red cape. The illumination and detail of her facial features is superb. It is also possible the the artist is Thomas barker of Bath who was noted for his similat works to Thomas Gainsborough.
