Portrait of a Lady with Pink Cloak |
Description |
This sumptuous Italian Baroque portrait oil painting is attributed to circle of Jacopo Amigoni. Painted circa 1720 it is a half-length portrait of a beautiful lady in a white silk dress with blue bows and pink cloak. Her auburn hair is up, apart from one ringlet cascading over her shoulder, and adorned with flowers. She is gazing at the artist/viewer and smiling slightly suggesting a degree of warmth or intimacy. The delicate detail of her face and the richness of her silk dress and cloak are all beautifully portrayed. She is well illuminated and the background both shadows and light, which serves to make her stand out further. This is an absolutely charming late Baroque Italian old master portrait oil painting and would grace any wall. |
