Description | This stunning British Victorian Cornish seascape oil painting is by exhibited artist Harvey Allport. It is a fine large marine oil painting of crashing waves entitled 'Ground Swell off Trevone Bay' verso. Allport has perfectly captured the transparency of the waves and the light catching the spray as they crash and the brushwork and impasto are superb. If you like seascapes they don't come much better than this. This was an exhibited work with the labels verso. Signed and dated 1891 lower right. |
