Painted in 1886 it was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1887. It is a stunning opulent bouquet of delicate single dahlias in shades of red and white in a stunning brass vase on a table. A really lovely painting harking back to the Golden Age of Dutch flower paintings, by a gifted female artist who exhibited extensively throughout her artistic career. Signed lower left. |
