Title | View Through Trees |
Description | This lovely British Post Impressionist 1950's landscape oil painting is from a collection of Peter L Field paintings acquired from the family. The composition is a view through trees to a dwelling beyond. What is more significant is the fantastic use of colour and heavy impasto brushwork, both in the foreground and beyond the trees' purples jostled with greens to brilliant effect. A really vibrant oil painting that just works and an excellent example of Field's eye for colour. There is also a lovely painting of tall lilies verso. |
