Description | This lovely Art Deco portrait oil painting is by noted British artist James P Barraclough. Painted circa 1923 it is a seated portrait of a young woman holding a book on her lap. She is wearing a blue satin dress with lace cuffs and collar and is gazing warmly at the artist and viewer. The illumination on her features is superb. A lovely Art Deco period oil portrait and an excellent example of Barraclough's work. Signed and dated upper left. |
