Allan Newton Sutherland (1885-1918)

Allan Newton Sutherland (1885-1918) flourished 1908-1918. Aberdeen painter, mainly portraits. Moved to Glasgow c 1913 and then eventually returned to Aberdeen. Sutherland died in WW1 aged 33. Despite such a short life he was already a committed artist and was exhibiting regularly, especially at the Aberdeen Artists Society in his home town.

Exhibited Royal Scottish Academy  2, Royal Society of Watercolour Painters 2, Aberdeen Artists Society 15, Glasgow Institute 8 including 'Lord Provost Taggart'.
