Johann Georg Seitz (1810-1870)

Johann Georg Seitz  was a German/Austrian artist born in Nuremberg Germany in 1810 and died in Vienna Austria in 1870. Seitz probably studied at the Vienna Academy. His artistic work (mostly oil painting on canvas) is characterized by his still lifes with flowers or fruits. Some of his works were exhibited at the Academy: 1830: a Piece of Fruit in watercolors.1842: the floral pieces Roses and Flowers, both oil paintings. In the obituaries for his death, he was also described as an excellent landscape painter.
