Biography Samuel Reid RSW (1854-1919) was an oil and watercolour artist who was born in Aberdeen. Educated in Aberdeen and London, he won a gold medal at Crystal Palace Exhibition in 1899. A writer and poet who exhibited Royal Academy (16), Royal Scottish Academy (48), Glasgow Institute (16), Royal Society of Watercolours (22) and Liverpool (6). He lived for a period in Glasgow.
