Alessandro Capalti (1810-1868)
Alessandro Capalti (1810-1868). Capalti was a 19th century Italian painter born and active in Rome. He was a painter of historical paintings and portraits as well as decorative design. Capalti was a pupil of Tommatso Minardi. He exhibited at the Royal Academy london between 1851 and 1858. His most noted portraits are those of the Rolland family. Princess Gwendoline Borghese, the Duchess Massim and the actress Adelaide Ristori. He died in Rome in 1868.
