Philippe Budelot (1770-1829)
Philippe Budelot (1770-1829), 18th and 19th century French artist. Born in Dijon. Active at the end of the 18th century and early 19th century. Painter of landscapes and architectural views. The nephew of Jean Baptiste Budelot, Philippe was a pupil of Bruandet, and, later, director of the St Petersberg porcelain factory under Alexander I. His first Salon picture was a landscape, exhibited in Paris in 1793, after which he worked essentially as a landscape painter.
