Description An original oil on canvas painted in 1924 by Albert Gordon Thomas with an impressionist palette. It depicts a wooded landscape with a lumberjack carrying his axe. This is a lovely example of an early twentieth century Scottish Impressionistic oil. It is a good size with excellent provenance and in great condition.

Biography Albert Gordon Thomas (1893-1970) - Royal Scottish Watercolour Society member (elected 1936). Thomas was a Glasgow painter who studied and taught at The Glasgow School Of Art. He exhibited from an address in Milngavie at the RSA, RSW and the Glasgow Institute. This particular work was exhibited at the Glasgow Art Club in the 1930’s.
