Description |
This superb Dutch Golden Age Baroque floral oil painting is by an unknown artist. Painted circa 1800 the composition is of a large bouquet of mixed flowers against a dark background. Indeed some of the flowers fade in to the darkness with the light particularly illuminating the flowers on the left including some stunning white roses and the pomegranate sliced in half on the stone ledge being nibbled by a moth. The realism is profound, the detail exquisite making this a superb example of Dutch Golden Age floral art housed in a fantastic Florentine frame. |
